Tensheds + TheMightySmall
Church Walk
Stowmarket IP14 1ET
After a very successful show during Independent Venue Week earlier this year, Tensheds returns to the John Peel Centre due to popular demand. Tensheds will once again bring his unique style of blues and balladry, and this time he will be joined by his drummer which brings a whole new level to his performance. His audacious showmanship and Rachmaninoff style piano skills deftly delivers a brand of gritty, heavy, edgy blues/punk, which incorporate elements of this classical background. He is touring his 3rd album ‘The Dandy Punk Prince’ – which won him yet more critical acclaim from the likes of Classic Rock “You’ll believe his hype”, Vive Le Rock “Genius” and live sessions on BBC Radio. He is also a recent recipient of the Discretionary Rock Award presented to him by Rick Wakeman at The House Of Lords.
Honing his craft in the time-honoured tradition, hoboing the road, Tensheds has along the way supported artists such as John Mayall, Mick Taylor, Hazel O’Connor, Beans On Toast, Paul Young, Roger Chapman, Spear Of Destiny, Blockheads, Paul Kelly, and James Burton as well as recent tours as piano player with Beans On Toast and Jim Jones And The Righteous Mind. Is it an wonder Tensheds has been labelled “Jerry Lee Lewis and Tom Waits’ love child”.

With guest TheMightySmall
1 Man, 7 Instruments, producing soulful blues, classic, and electro rock.
If you thought you’d seen and heard it all music-wise, you’d better prepare for TheMightySmall: a one man band for the 21st Century. The music grabs you from the very first breath and takes you on an emotional journey of soulful melodies and classic rock whilst hailing the distant tones of Van Morrison, Jeff Buckley and a slight hint of Dylan. The live-looping approach to performance, wrangling loops in similarly compelling style to a professional spinner of plates whilst turning out perfectly crafted multi-instrumental electro/folk/rock mash-ups is a show to behold.
“Damn, that kid got it bro!” – Huey Morgan, BBC Radio
“Fair warning then, catch this man they call TheMightySmall before the mainstream swallows him whole and spits him out as an arena-packing monster.” – classic rock magazine
