Sir Reg + Neil Brophy Band @ John Peel Centre

Sir Reg is an energetic six piece from Sweden fronted by Irishman Brendan Sheehy on vocals, who left his home-town of Dublin to come to Sweden to fulfil his dream: to put together the most amazing band possible.

With songs about everything from the issues of modern day society to finding the right bar on a Saturday night, combined with strong melodies and explosive live shows, SIR REG have made a name for themselves in the Celtic punk and rock scene.

Since the birth of the band in 2009 they have released four critically acclaimed albums and have performed on many of Europe’s biggest stages alongside bands like The Mahones, The Misfits, Thin Lizzy and The Real McKenzies.

The latest release ‘The Underdogs’ (2018) deals with the struggles and fighting of the ordinary men and women, to make their voice heard and their opinions count, whilst not losing their spirit and ability to enjoy the simpler things in life, like hanging out with friends at their favourite bar on a Saturday night.

“… SIR REG kicked off the proceedings and blasted out their music like A SWIFT BLOW TO THE FACE! Their stage presence is overwhelmingly energetic, an energy that is projected right into the heart of the audience …” – Jim Bergqvist, Rockbladet

“Sir Reg are one of the leaders of the new wave of Celtic-punk and are very much snapping at the heels of the original scenesters …” – Mustard Finnegan, Shite ‘n’ Onions

Best of Celtic Rock & Punk 2010, 2011 & 2013 – Paddy Rock Radio

Brendan Sheehy – vocals, acoustic guitar
Karin Ullvin – violin
Chris Inoue – electric guitar
Mattias Söderlund – bass

Support from Neil Brophy Band

Folk rock band Neil Brophy Band has been recording music and touring since 1998. Based in wonderful Copenhagen, the English-Scottish-Danish band has released several CDs. Their last single The Record Collector, which was released on Record Store Day was picked up by Steve Lamacq and received substantial airplay on BBC 6 Music.

Neil’s early influences of Dylan, Mcgowen, Bragg & New Model Army helped shape his songs with an element of travel, social commentary and revelry. Over the years Neil has honed his craft of twisting his travelling stories and personal experiences into song.
