“Beautiful, intimate and affecting. This is great modern folk writing” **** – R2
“A darkened folk masterpiece” **** – The Quietus
“Sometimes disturbing magic realist folk pop. Excellent” **** – Q Magazine

Singer-songwriter Jack Harris was the youngest ever winner of the Kerrville Folk Festival’s ‘New Folk’ Award in 2005 (previous winners include Gillian Welch and Anais Mitchell). He

They are literate, curious songs, often in character, always intriguing. His third full length album, ‘The Wide Afternoon’, assembles 11 new songs, rooted in folk and blues traditions, telling real and imagined stories in a husky, intimate vocal accompanied by excellent, fluid guitar picking.

“A priest of song” – Anais Mitchell
