emerge is our local band night, showcasing exciting new local talent. Come along to support these talented artists and potentially see the international stars of the future!
“Worth supporting if you live locally, these emerge nights” – Steve Lamacq, BBC Radio 6 Music
This emerge will feature KYU, Powderhead, Salvador, and Swimsuit Competition (not necessarily in that order!).
KYU are a 3-piece indie rock band based in Colchester, who write original music ranging from sweeping melodies to punchy riffs, complemented by a side of funked up bass lines and striking drums. [Facebook] [Soundcloud]
Powderhead are a heavy rock band from Cambridge described as “stormtrooping hard rockers that power up and smash you straight in the face” (Black Phoenix Metal Forum). They released their debut album “Don’t Let Them Win” last April. With their high-octane stage performance, this 4-piece have supported the likes of Chris Holmes (ex WASP), Santa Cruz and Attica Rage in some of the UK’s most iconic venues including The Camden Underworld, Bannermans Bar and The Robin 2. Salvador are an indie rock band from Framlingham. They are aged between 16 and 17 and gig regularly on the Suffolk scene. This summer they recorded our debut EP at Decoy Studios, which will be released this March. [Facebook]
Swimsuit Competition are a four-piece band based in Essex. They formed in 2018, and are fronted by vocalist Amber Scott. [Facebook]
Remember, emerge nights are for bands to perform and be supported by an appreciative crowd that will get to hear some great music, so all bands/artists and their fans are very much encouraged to support the other performers. Therefore if you are coming to see one band, please try to come for the whole evening – the bands will definitely appreciate it, and you will have a great time!
