Bonuru
Bonuru are a new Suffolk-based trio that seek to merge their love of jazz improvisation with the exciting world of live electronics.
The Dutch House
They say that you are a product of your environment; the same rule can be applied to the art-rock band ‘The Dutch House’. The group was formed by songwriting siblings David Kotowski and Anna Kotowska in 2018, later joined by guitarist Jordon Barry and drummer Adam Duck. Inspired by the alternative rock movement of the early 90s and the introspective lyricism of 60s folk, they aim to capture the atmosphere and mysticism of their Fenland home. This is underpinned by their name, inspired by the dutch engineers who drained the marshes in the 1600s. Their music has been described as ‘chameleon-like’, intricate melodic guitar work moulded with
tight funk rhythms and undulating basslines. Unpredictable and ever-changing, like the environment around them. This is born from their wide range of musical influences, including Django Reinhardt, The La’s, XTC, Nick Drake and The Stone Roses. Currently, they are working on their debut EP.
Aimee Iris
Aimee Iris is a singer songwriter from Ipswich, Suffolk with a recently released single, ‘Dancing On Tables’, which is a summer track all about letting go and living with no regret. Her music is heavily influenced by the pop/musical theatre fusion of artists such as Sara Bareilles and Ben Platt.
The Daze
The Daze are a five piece post punk band from Bury St Edmunds formed in May 2017 at Queens Road Studio. The band are renowned for entertaining the crowd with their high energy stage presence, swapping of singers and musicians and their short, sharp, loud numbers.
In 2022 they have the under 18’s Cambridge Band Comp resulting them playing at The Junction and Strawberry Fair. They were nominated for the Kimberly Rae Songwriting Comp by the judges for their new song ‘Entitled’. Judge Mark “its a rap punk cross with a Hawkwind feel; incredible.”
